Councillor Vacancy within the Hiltingbury East Ward

Chandlers Ford Parish Council has a vacancy for a Parish Councillor within the Hiltingbury East Ward.

A casual vacancy on the council has arisen due to – The non-attendance at Council or Committee meetings by Kurian Abraham, in accordance with Local Government Act 1972 section 85(1).  The vacancy arose as of 21 July 2025.

A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if, within 14 days (excluding Saturday or Sunday, Bank Holidays and any appointed days for Thanksgiving or Mourning) from the date below, ten electors for the ward/parish give notice in writing claiming such an election to the Returning Officer.

The Address of the Returning Officer is – Eastleigh Borough Council, Eastleigh House, Upper Market Street, Eastleigh, SO50 9YN

If no such notice is given, the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option as soon as reasonably possible.

This notice is dated: 3 November 2025

The position will stand until the next elections in May 2026.
