Update on Fryern Recreation Ground – Traveller Encampment

We are aware that travellers arrived at Fryern Recreation Ground last night and staff met with police on site.

We understand the community’s frustration, especially as this is the second occurrence in just over a month — despite the additional security measures we have already put in place.

Please be assured that we have acted immediately and decisively:

A Notice to Leave has been served on the group.

Papers have been hand delivered to Southampton Magistrates’ Court today to request a Possession Order.

We are working closely with our legal team, the police, and enforcement officers.

We share the community’s concerns and are doing everything within our legal powers to resolve the situation as swiftly as possible. Thank you for your patience and continued support.
