Pennine Way has two age-appropriate play areas securely fenced, with a basketball hoop nearby and a football goal within the recreation ground itself.  With a path network around the edge of the recreation ground, you can walk or cycle comfortably as the park connects to nearby residential areas such as Pennine Way, Oakmount Avenue and Stourvale Gardens.

Unfortunately, this area has been historically prone to flooding.  But works are underway to resolve this, and we hope for works to take place during 2024.

There is also an area of wildflowers planted along the railway bank which brings colour this this often shaded spot.
