Updated 13 May 2020
Tennis Courts: -
Some slight respite in these strange times...As of Wednesday 13 May 2020 the tennis courts can re-open for use under certain conditions as required by the government's advice/guidelines: -
1) Players must maintain social distancing at all times between themselves and other players from different households.
2) A player (or players) may play with 1 member of another household and must maintain social distancing at all times.
3) There is only 1 option for doubles to be able to be played - all players must be from 1 household (i.e. 2 parents and 2 children, or 4 children etc). You CANNOT play doubles with 2 players from one household and two players from another household or even all 4 players from different households.
4) Coaching can only be done on a 1:1 basis - sorry - no group coaching
Remember - once you get home wash your hands for 20 seconds or use a sanitiser when you have finished playing.
Sorry, but these are not our rules...they are the government's...If players cannot abide by these rules we will have no option other than to re-close the courts to ensure that we are not complicit in people breaking the guidance.
Currently it looks as if other facilities might re-open sometime around 4 July 2020...watch this space...
As we await government updates on the lockdown review, we have taken the decision to suspend the vast majority of remaining activities the parish council have been undertaking over the past 3 weeks. Our grounds maintenance workers and some other staff live with people at risk and although we take all precautions possible whilst the peak of infections/deaths is still anticipated we want to ensure we can look after both their mental and physical well-being by not having them come in to work.
We will keep on undertaking safety and security checks etc in the meantime and will get back to normal (whatever that will be) as soon as possible.
Please continue to, Stay Home and Stay Safe.
Covid-19 and the Parish Council (updated 26 March 2020): -
Everything is moving very fast at the moment. Currently, in line with Government advice, the parish office will have limited opening hours and please contact by phone or email rather than in person. Our sports hall is closed as are our outdoor sports facilities (tennis courts, skate parks and MUGAs).
If you are using our open spaces, please keep 2m distance from each other and wash your hands/sanitise when you get home or before you have a hand to face contact, if you touch any surfaces.
Our play areas are all closed as per the government's requirements, they will continue to have their regular safety checks/inspections.
Our buildings might appear to be open as we have to flush water, do safety inspections etc but they are not open to the public, so there is no public toilet provision.
Let's all keep safe and well.

The (Church of England) Parish of Chandler’s Ford (St Boniface and St Martin in the Wood) have also launched a Crisis Care Scheme in the light of the developing COVID-19 epidemic. The scheme offers appropriate telephone and practical support to anybody in our community of Chandler’s Ford who is self-isolating, particularly the elderly and vulnerable, who may not have a network of family in the area to support them.
"This is how the support system works:
1. People who are self-isolating can phone the (Church) Parish Office on 8026 5977 and give their details to Suzie our Administrator. The office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm and out of hours there is an answerphone.
2. We will arrange for one of our Care Team to phone them, see how they are, chat about support and how often they might like a phone call over the coming weeks. We can also offer to do simple practical tasks like food shopping and collection of medication, if required.
3. We are happy that people contact us on behalf of others who might value such support, as long as they have the person’s permission to share their details with us.
Please be careful about who you share details with, making sure they are ‘bona fide’ organisations.
